38th Annual First Nations University of Canada Spring Celebration Powwow

April 2, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - April 3, 2016 @ 11:00 pm

The First Nations University Pow-wow is one of the longest running celebrations in Saskatchewan and has grown to be one of the largest as well. Our students began this celebration more than 38 years ago and they still play a significant leadership role in hosting the event. Everyone is welcome. The event is alcohol free and is targeted at families and spectators (Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal) visitors of all ages. This come-and-go event has exciting and colorful performances that run continuously throughout the afternoon and evening, beginning with our Grand Entry at 12:00 noon on Saturday and Sunday and closing with a “retiring of the flags” ceremony at about midnight each night. This year we have a number of specials including tiny-tot initiations, adult dance competitions and hand-drum contests.

Information on the powwow to be updated soon. Please visit the website:http://fnuniv.ca/powwow
