The 2016 Saskatchewan Middle Years Association Conference will be held Oct. 20 & 21st in Regina, Saskatchewan. We are pleased to welcome “The Weird Teacher”- Doug Robertson, as our keynote speaker.

Doug Robertson is the author of two books, He’s the Weird Teacher and The Teaching Text (You’re Welcome).  He is also the editor of the CUE Blog and the moderator of #WeirdEd every Wednesday at 7 PST. Doug is a dynamic teacher who uses a variety of methods to engage and connect with his students. Doug vehemently resists the negative stereotypes of teachers and fights for teacher rights as often as he can. He advocates for his students and loves and believes in each and every one of them.

Want to join us for a full two days of learning? Join Katia Hilderbrand and Joanna Sanders for a pre-conference session on Digital Citizenship in Action: In this session, attendees will learn about the different elements of digital citizenship and how they can be integrated into the middle years classroom. As well, participants will explore different ways to put digital citizenship into action to help students make a positive change in their schools and communities.  This will be a hands-on session so participants are encouraged to bring a device with them.. This “Pre-Note” will take place on Thursday morning before the official kickoff of the conference.
